Resilience
You can’t prepare the road for your children but you can prepare your child for the road.
Enter, resilience.
It’s a word that is bandied about a lot these days and for good reason. Scientific research proves that it is one of the most powerful factors associated with a successful life – a life well lived.
Research has proven resilience to be crucial for human flourishing, especially needed for the development of healthy, adaptable young people. It’s what empowers children and young people to emerge from difficult experiences with confidence in themselves and their futures. Children who develop resilience are better able to face obstacles, overcome setbacks and adapt to change.
I coach parents to build resilience in their children and integrate the tenets of Positive Psychology and strengths-based therapies in adolescent/teen counselling to build resilience from within. It’s a quality critically needed now more than ever before.
