Adolescent Counselling
Therapy is the space where our innate potential to heal, restore and transform is revealed. The therapeutic relationship is one of those rare relationships where we can explore who it is we are – our fears, hopes and desires – without concern of judgment, shame or guilt. Through therapy we can learn to walk towards change and empowerment, one tiny step at a time.
As a counsellor, when I work with a client, I look to see the whole person. From that place, I help them explore their path to mental wellness by uncovering the mysteries that have been missed, and all aspects of the individual’s emotional health are equally considered . Our ultimate goal is not just stability, but realisation of full potential.
Working with children is the highlight of my work. The essence of it is empowering them to achieve their full potential by encouraging personal growth and journeying towards achieving their life goals.
Anxiety and depression
Anxiety and depression are two of the biggest challenges facing our young people today. Anxiety and depression have a range of symptoms.
If you have an anxious child, I may be able to help.
There are a number of factors that contribute to anxiety including environment, genetics and temperament. Once I have assessed your child to identify the underlying causes, I design a program that we work on together and can be easily adapted at home either with or without parental involvement.
Although the length of programs varies from case to case, four weeks is often sufficient to treat a mild case of anxiety with follow up work being done personally. You are always welcome to seek support or guidance after counselling sessions have finished and I always check back in after a few weeks to monitor progress.
If you would like more information about how I can help your child with anxiety or any other problems they may be having, I would love to hear from you.
