Mindfulness

There is no time like the present. Indeed. And yet so many of us resist or ignore the simple gift and basic human ability to live in the present moment. This is what mindfulness practice can restore. An awareness of the self and the untold physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits.

In all of my work, at the heart of it is mindfulness. While mindfulness is something we all naturally possess, it’s more readily available to us when we practice on a daily basis.

Whenever you bring awareness to what you’re directly experiencing via your senses, or to your state of mind via your thoughts and emotions, you’re being mindful. Oh, and there’s a ton of research showing that when you train your brain to be mindful, you’re actually remodelling the physical structure of your brain. Amazing.

I appropriately integrate mindfulness into both counselling and coaching; teaching children and parents life-long skills of why and how to practice mindfulness and meditation in a way that reconciles with both traditional (Eastern) methods and more modern (Western) approaches.
